Monotypes are one-of-a kind prints (unique state). I learnt this technique from the last project and applied it in creating textured patterns for my background of my Collagraph.

To achieve this print, I have inked up a plastic plate with relief ink and scrunched up tin foil to lay on top of the plate. It's then been run through the press. Next, I have removed the tin foil and placed it onto a new clean plate. Damp rag paper has been placed on top and it's been run back through the press. This image is the end result.

Each colour is a new layer, building on top of the print. I have played around with placement of the collagraph onto the monotype background, working out how I would like the join them together. The monotype print has some interesting shapes and overlays, like mountains from another planet.
